hihi moo! i just read halinh's blog and felt inspired by her post about her christian friend and her lyrics hehe! and i suddenly felt this super strong urge to tell you to bring her to church on Good Friday, cos she'll accept Christ! ok that's said and done, dont know if its from me or God! hahaha! i realise her model of a non-believer is someone supremely slanted towards God in terms of hope and being positive, much more than me before i was a beliiever! so must bring her kk! and i must keep reminding myself to soak it up- the moment when i go back. ive waited so so long for this! and God has helped me make things so much more easier here, but i'd choose to be desparate for afew days here, just to experience and FULLY appreciate level 1 again! today was just freaking awesome. this was probably the best christmas in my life, but boxing day was even better.

Christmas first
on christmas eve, went with Emma for a catholic mass at church of the risen christ at toa payoh. it really opened up my eyes, first we went at 930 and had to queue up all the way till 12 midnight. didnt really know the timings but i think there was a mass at 9-1015, and another at 12-115. so we waited and chilled. at 12, midnight mass started. its very different cos they have preaching and we're supposed to respond, like say amen or like praise be to God. its quite ritual like and even when they speak about joy they are pretty solemn and serious. im not sure if thats the way God wants it to be but it was quite interesting overall. took a cab back home and slept at 2 plus.

Christmas day
went for 11am service, woke up at 10am and heard mummy was fetching me hahahah! yaye! so went for 11 service, arrived early and felt quite lonely without moo, sitting in the last row alone like a lonely moo until jess sms then went out to wait for her. it was a really good service all about mathew chapter 1 verse 1, the genealogy chapter, but i felt they shd sing more christmas songs. but again, praise songs are also about christ as much. i think i love christmas songs too much. was nice seeing jess and she agreed to meet again yaye!!

afternoon went home, slept awhile (did i not sure) then went out at 530 to sentosa. first time seeing resorts world, quite interesting and nice. ate at this ramenplay shop, its like a fast food centre total oppposite of marche. super commercialised, i felt like a product on a production chain. the stupid soft shell crab is 5.80 and its TINY. so lame la. anw moving on went upstairs, went to see this crane dance. took quite long for it to start finally at 915. went to this shop candylicious, wanted to buy cards but a small card is like $6. so nvm. bought a $3 cup of lemon ice blend drink, quite a ripoff but i was really thirsty. after that crane dance started but then it rained too! so everyone went indoors, quite wasted but the cranes are big and really expensive. also went thru this $25 mil radio sound system, quite cool. talked to korkor andrew about game mechanics, quite interesting. after that went home and slept heheheh. arranged meeting with jess tmr in morning! and benjy tat chern and julian in afternoon! was really happy and free day, with family and with God.

Boxing day
woke up at 915, then started going to meet jess at tanglin mall. kinda lost my way around, dont know wheres botanic gardens. finally met her then walked around botanic gardens. nice to see alot of kids and families there on a sunday morning. spent like 15mins walking around aimlessly before sitting down and eating her homemade food hahaha. jess if you're reading this, it was a really nice time spent talking with you about life and God, about your UK life and abit about my Army life. I dont know why but it just all feels so timeless and every moment so precious, talking with you suddenly made me appreciate everything and everyone around me so much more. and for the three things that you didnt want but came true for you, i believe God will make the best out of it anyway, i think he'll admire your choice to follow your parents so diligently despite your desires being otherwise. i dont know if God spoke to you thru your parents, maybe he did knowing your heart, (which will follow your parents' advice) maybe he didn't intend to do so. maybe he wants you to one day follow your desires, maybe he wants you to give them up so he can shape your life the way he wants. regardless, i admire you going overseas even tho we're home bunnies at heart ahahah. maybe when the time comes (like in just shortly over a year more!! so fast!!!) i'll be able to make a brave decision also. we'll see. Thanks Jess for the time spent today, it was soul filling in a way i've not experienced for a long time, (maybe cos i've known you for three years but never really had a really open up conversation with you) and so i thank you, and i thank God.

moving on, i went home at 2+, ate, napped at 330 and wanted to wake up at 4. then i woke up at 4, felt tired, slept again, woke up at 5 WHEN IM SUPPOSED TO MEET BENJY AND JULIAN AT 430!! haha so i just grabbed jess' note and rushed to mrt, reached marina square at 530. met benjy and julian and it was a really nice time as well, in a guy catching up sense. was good talking to benjy about ocs, commision and stuff, talk about his leave getting wasted( i felt so happy knowing TMR'S LEAVE FOR WHOLE WEEK YAYEEE!!) and then he left at 6. only half an hour with him but it was nice. overslept zzz. felt like needed more time to talk to him proper but thats okay. so after that just me and julian. it was nice, havent seen him in AGES, want to catch up for real. he's quit WoW so thats good for him, agrees with me that its a time sink. and we spent time talking about soccer teams, him enlisting soon and stuff. told him not to worry, everything will really past very very fast. as i am typing here today, tomorrow i might be celebrating a Christmas where i've ORD-ed. yaye!! hope we can watch arsenal v chelsea together soon as well. i kind of miss him from the old times since we both can relate to each other pretty well compared to the rest. he wants to LAN soon and that'd be nice as well. talked until 6 plus before i went home at 7.

while on the train back i just felt absolute joy in my heart, joy which just made be jump seriously. i jumped out of the lift and ran back home. its just so so nice talking to all three of them, each of them so special in their own way. for Jess, its just this timeless feel to the whole meeting, and God speaking to me about how much i should appreciate people and everything around me. for Benjy, it was short, but it was a good continuation about our growth as individuals in Christ, abit of gossip(secret) and that nice guy feel. for Julian, it was about not meeting for so long, and nice to know he's doing fine, giving him abit of advice and wanting to follow up after missing out on each other's lives for so long.

and so here i stand, by the grace of God who died on the Cross so i can live and breathe today, 11 months from ORD, with 5days leave staring at my face, a day before Linh comes home. All i can say is, i'm really really happy. We have cause to hope, truly. Thank you God, and good night. Amen.

it hurts so bad. despair, pain, heartache, depression all mixed in a myriad of emotion. ripping your heart apart. you feel torn. you become desperate. you rush home, pushing others aside. does it matter to them, being a few minutes late for dinner? they'll still get home the next day.

the world looks so foreign when you stepped out today. everyone looks, different. people dont smile, and you wondered why 10months ago, mocking them. now, you make comparisons which come naturally. how can they not smile if they could feel how you felt, every night, and know that the feeling doesnt exist in them? you wouldnt mind exchanging lives with another living in poverty for these two years. at least they have their freedom.

appearance doesnt matter. but if someone really looks at you, he can see thru you. you know something's wrong, but you're just trying your best to cover up. if they look closely in your eyes, they can see, they can tell, the hurt. a friend said, your eyes speak. its a really nice compliment. it means your eyes display emotions. but then you wonder if your eyes will know happiness after another 1 year 5 months of hurt and pain. will they lose their ability to smile, to crinkle at the sides?

its sunday and im booking in later. its even hard to type those 4 words of the first sentence. i hate it when people ask me what time im going in, do i need to prepare, get ready. etc.

2 things spurred me on today. the first was hope. when i think about hope of the future. thoughts about certain things, sadly which i've forgotten.

the other thing was Jay. somehow his songs always speak out to me in such a special way. sometimes i think if jay was this good, i should go try out other artists. but i know none will be as good as jay. i know for sure, this album, The Era, will have a very special meaning in my heart. a sad meaning. in the future, whenever i listen to The Era, i'll always think back about army. every song there will remind me about army. its like a secret heaven in hell. a great escape.

and i pray that i'll get an 8-5, for my world would be complete once again should that happen. i love you moomoo.

and thinking about alaric and how he hurts so badly in sispec is somehow comforting. or danny with his 10day field camp. whatever it is, we're all in this shit together. on the 4th dec, 2011, i dont even know what'll happen. the true meaning of freedom would be found. it's over, forever and ever. the first people i want to celebrate with are alaric, jon neo, and all who are in the same batch. and yet as i type, jay is speaking to me again. thank God for this album. if theres anything ever i'll cling on to here in army, it's hope. whatever form. a small prayer every morning. a short song which speaks volumes.

and then there's Amumu. you're beyond special friend. you just grow cuter by the day and your actions are so incredible to me. i don't know if we can stay together forever, but i know if you were condemned to hell, i'll gladly suffer in your place, like in The Shack. you really deserve the best of the best, and i hope i can give you that.

and here we go. 8.34pm. 2hours more. i have hope for this weekend. your return. hope for Jay's concert. hope for a 8-5 after this course. hope for a new game called bloodline champions. hope based on the sparks of enjoyment and connection i felt last week with my platoon. emma just mentioned how fast it would be before linh comes back. a small spark of hope ignites in me. and i realise i could live just on hope alone. hope from God. i just realised everyone thinks relationships will be harder to maintain during NS, but i don't. do you friend? i think you get less time together, but for me i cherish every single moment we have.

i kind of understand better your feeling when i can't relate with you about the stuff you worry about for us. i know what you mean now and i'll try whenever it arises. i'm sorry for making you feel so alone in the past.

it means the world to me if you could stay over for the weekend. even if i don't see you much, like on sat when you're going out till late at night, the thought of you coming home, and simply sleeping nearby is just too comforting. it's like you know the other person is constantly there in your life. and that's such a sweet feeling.

its monday and im feeling just slightly blue.

the past weekend was amazing. i didnt relive the intense excitment i had as a kid, but it was a constantly assuring feeling, of amazement and pure joy. when i woke up on sunday, i didn't think about booking in that much; i was just incredibly happy to know you were here. its like a super peaceful feeling in your heart that everything is just perfect. those moments, were perfect.

if every weekend could be spent like that, it would be the best motivation ever for me to look forward to each week.

meeting you was so valuable. its just priceless esp after like 3weeks of not seeing you. its a simple outing but it meant alot. lets meet more! hopefully this weekend, with yizan and rob.

home is ever more precious when you're army. every moment there seems so perfect, be it rob playing comp simply, mum on the phone or popo sitting still. thanks to you friend, i appreciate home much more.

sometimes i think your heart is really difficult to please. but i dont see it in a bad light, because i know, your heart is gold. and if there's one heart i want to chase in the whole world, it's yours. you wrote about how you felt insecure in pink diary. i dont think you felt special when you came to singapore. the actual fact was that i bought your fav food(chicken rice), your fav bubble tea, non strawberry flavoured ice cream, and a cute pair of toothbrushes for us to use while you were here. i learnt abit of Try,(2days only) and i think it was great fun and would have been better than me just playing the whole song proper for you. i tried to make you feel special but i dont think i did it properly.

i dont think that i dont love you enough, but i think its just me and my motivational issues. you know i won't do stuff that i dont like, and sometimes it spills over into laziness, when something is actually much more simple. but i know that i love everything about you.

but something i'd really like to see alot more is you in your pretty moments. that's one reason why i asked you to do eyeliner day and mirror thingy.

about the insecure thingy in diary and me saying its not that hard, i dont want to discourage you, but i really think very positively when we encounter that issue. (you coming over and meeting each other or me going over) i see it as very fun and i look forward to it, and somtimes as you may put it i conveniently ignore the complications. i'll help you out friend. i really want to. but i think its okay for you to come over and take love the world as your main job for awhile, then after that go on and find other part time jobs while you're here. its okay to make a loss for the first month if you can get much much better quality jobs rather than find afew scrappy ones w/o face to face interview then come over.

about your brother's suggestion of staying here in singapore, i think it'd be nice, but not if you want to try out the American Uni experience. i'm sure you'll excel wherever you go, but i want you to do what you love. if you stay tho, it'd probably save alot of hurt and we can work even more together to make everything perfect, for you and me, individually or together. if you stay, i'll probably stay instead of go Australia as well.

doesn't seem that way though. jc life is crazy, fucking stress & all. so many subjects are a complete waste of time, and shit why did i take physics. maybe i should have gone arts course and aim for psychology like cz did. but he plans to move overseas cos psychology isn't recognised here, something which i don't think i'll do.

the teachers are the best, srlys. most/all of them give u the impression they are watching your every single move, and that they have absolute control over u cos they hold ur testimonials. so welcome 'politically correct' answers to every question and stuff.

time to re-define life. keep thinking back to the ski resort @ korea and the trip walking around the city in japan. the whole place was fucking crowded but still dam nice cos we ate ramen in this tiny little shop at the side of the main street. everyone looks so happy there & like almost everyone is going out in couples much fewer groups of friends. the ski resort in korea was epic. esp the night when i went out and stood by the side of this wooden platform gazing up at the whole white landscape (the ski slope) and the sky was pitch dark except for the lights shining on the slope. to add to that there were little snowflakes falling down in the absolute silence.. epic. just like 'the epic one' hahahahah

haiz. im bak. to stay. the camp was my first ever camp i can call 'ok'. but if i wanna rate it from other pple's point of view, i think it is dam good. okok enuff crapping lets start the camp going.

we knew we would b goin out 2dae. bt duno where. den the guy gave us the ans. we were goin for an amazing race. 6 teams. woohoo! our first clue was to go to yishun. go opposite yishun SAFRA n play a ball game. so go j8 mrt. it was 5 den. haf to wait abit until mrt open. so i go roam arnd j8. no shops open la. obviously. bt very nice. so dark. walk past ipod shop there. n 77th street. tot of goin home lor. bt noe a camp is a camp la. so stayed. when i went bak to the mrt... my team was pumping. all my fault. i leave den nv tel them. sighs. den mrt open. go in tt time den lag dam long. 3 mrt pass in the opposite direction den finally the correct one come. go tampines. i slept. so nice lor. the train was very empty. of cos la. at 5.30 lehz. den go yishun. in the end, after walking for soo long... we were supposed to score a goal against a keeper. soccer. so ez lar. bt i let other pple score. im good ya noe. haha. okae nvm. we were 4th in the race. den we took a shortcut bak to mrt.
